Hello I’m Nat Campbell and voting for me would mean there is an officer who can relate to all students and cares about their welfare and experiences whilst here at Staffs.

I am currently a final year Sociology student and the current manager of the Mature Parent & Carer network. Over the past 2 years I have worked tirelessly to get the voices of mature and parent students heard and they have been.  I have also managed to get the students union and university  to include family friendly activities during welcome week  and different events throughout the year. I was also a part of a team that brought about the children’s library. An area that makes education and study for parent students more accessible.

If I can achieve this as a student, imagine what I can achieve as an officer.

I am passionate about ALL students and their experiences, and as a mum of 3 I have a fair idea what trials young people face these days and I can relate to students of all ages.

Let me be the one to make you #proudtobestaffs.

School holiday children’s club:

one issue that many students face is finding childcare during school holidays. I believe that having a scheme like this based at staffs would prove beneficial for both students and staff, who could drop their children off in a secure, safe environment, attend lectures/exams then go home.

Mental Health Strategies:

Student mental health will always be an issue. I want to carry on the work started by previous officers and keep mental health at the top of university and union agendas. Bringing in new strategies that coincide with current societal issues. There is no one size fits all strategy for mental health issues, we are all individual and have different issues/difficulties in our life that need to be addressed on an individual basis. One area that does need attention is the waiting list for counselling. And I will work to get this waiting time reduced

Venue food choices:

Our venues rely on students spending their money there, so I think that students should have a say in what we sell.  If elected I will work with venue managers and consult with students as to what they would like to see served.

24/7 access:

A lot of courses require specialist software and equipment. I will work tirelessly to ensure that students get the access they require to enable them to undertake and complete assignments on time.

Student safety:

Every student should feel safe whether it is just walking around campus or having a night out in one of the venues. As an officer I will ensure that your safety is not compromised in any shape or form

Outreach campuses Blackheath lane and Shrewsbury:

Different campuses require different needs but the one thing that we all have in common is that we are Staffordshire university students. As a lot of activities are based at stoke, I will fight for transport to be provided so students based at Blackheath lane and Shrewsbury can have the chance to experience them also.

End of year celebrations:

We have fun at welcome week, so I believe that there should be some sort of activity similar to this when students finish their year. So, if elected I will work on a final event.

Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto.

Make your vote count and vote 1 for #MommaNat. The candidate that cares.
