Proposed pledge for position of finance officer
Hi guys, so those of you who know me, know that I’ve been a member of R.A.M.S. for nearly two years now. Over that time, I’ve drank with you all at countless invasions, head banged with you at Devil’s Nights and moshed with you at Download. This society has been my safe place in the uni and really helped to bring me out my shell and love being at staffs. After everything it has done for me, I really want to give back to everyone here, hence why I am going for the committee next year because I want to make sure all the current members and the freshers fall in love with the society the same way that so many people here including myself have.
Having a very strong background in business and finance I feel that I could be a great asset to the society. Along with my experience in budgeting; I want to make an active effort in fundraising for everyone, so that the society as a whole (because I mean I’m fully aware of how broke we all are) can be involved in as many drinking and social events as possible.
Over the course of the I want to make sure that the society offers:
- A range of drinking socials (Invasions, Devil’s, Karabingo, Terrace/Ember socials)
- Group trips (Gigs and nights out in Birmingham, Manchester, Stoke, etc)
- Sober socials (Alton Towers, Escape Rooms, Carveries, etc)
- RAMS Camp at Download and Bloodstock)
- Wide range of merch available for January loan, including a pub crawl t shirt ready for the event (Designed by yours truly, i.e. the only fashion student in R.A.M.S.)
Overall, I’d love to be able to offer my services to you lovely drunks and help to make next year as amazing as possible. I pledge to make everyone as comfortable and safe as I did when I was a little fresher as well as making sure no one is alienated. Anyway, regardless of what happens, can’t wait to see you all at the next invasion and socials in between.
