We have been apart of this squad for 5 months and the fact that we don’t know everyone is disconcerting. Our hope for next year is that we have many more socials. Spending time together is important for trust and team building: we have made so many beautiful friends because of this team, we want everyone to have the same love for everyone on this team we have.

This is why it’s important to us that socials aren’t just alcohol oriented. We would like to book the side room of Ember to hold film nights, to play games together and compete at the weekly quiz more often so that everyone is able to get to know each other outside of training. We are confident in our ability to do this as we have a good relationship with the staff at the Union venue.

Additional to this, making the most of the contract that Hannah organised with LRV (thank you to her) and given the fact we love any opportunity for fancy dress so we have plans for more themed nights out such as, Harry Potter and Disney. We would love to hear any suggestions you guys have.

We have many friends on other sports teams: American football, Lacrosse, Ultimate frisbee, football and rugby, to name a few and we would like to set up give it a go sessions and joint socials to exchange skills and build friendships and communication links throughout the university. Better relationships with everyone at this university will also leads to better fundraising opportunities such as bake sales and raffles. If anyone has any ideas of an activity or challenge they would like to undertake for charity we’d love to get involved.

While the social side of cheer is essential to a well functioning team, we know that organising kit and ensuring everyone is measured accurately is crucial to the execution of comp. With both of us available for this it will make the whole process quicker and easier. Both of our degrees are based on out abilities to be precise in practical based tasks so it is skills that we already have.

Overall, we love being apart of this squad and are passionate about this sport; this is clear by our enthusiasm and dedication to this team. More time together will create tighter bonds, we look forward to contributing to making this team the best that we can be.
