I am applying for the role of Communication Officer because I believe that a society such as Myth should continue to operate to the best of its ability, carrying on into future years providing students with the opportunity to play the games they are passionate about. At the core of the society are the connections made between players, and being Communications Officer I would help to facilitate this, as well as conveying information to members of the society, ensuring to clearly communicate the time, place and nature of events the society is running. I have shared experiences and made friendships that never would have happened without this societies existence, and I want to ensure future students can do the same. A major part of this is making sure that people in the society can attend events in which they can meet other society members, such as the weekly event proposed by George, one of the applicants on my slate. I would also focus on drawing attention to the aspects of the society with lower attendance, such as the weekly card game meetup, as well as continuing to promote the already popular society events such as the campaign signups to ensure the society continues to grow. Another important aspect of the society is the Discord server, which will need to continue to be carefully managed as the society grows, which I will strive to do in this role.
