I am 2nd year Games Design student, who has been a member of Myth for the last year. This year, I’ve run a 5e Dungeons and Dragons campaign, called the Unnamed Continent, which has given me several new wonderful friends.
I am running for Manager of the society as I believe with my experience I can make this already fantastic society into something more cohesive and enjoyable for all. Having been Treasurer for the Motor Club at Loughborough University and helping to set up Staffordshire’s Streaming Society, and therefore having been through committee training already, I have a clear understanding of what is involved in managing a society and how to successfully implement all member’s ideas.
I believe we can improve our society by discussing the following ideas:
- Running weekly or fortnightly myth social to allow people to connect and form new groups and friendships
- Regular activities like board games nights and quizzes
- Have Dungeon Legends running reliably
- Offer support for DMs and chances for new and experienced ones to run one shots in a relaxed setting
- Grow the society further by running taster sessions for each of our groups during the start of term
- Increase the society’s presence at the Society Fayre
- Try to increase number of DMs through increased support and regular DM masterclasses
I believe these are all things the will improve the experiences of people within the society, as well as being achievable by the committee. I am running with a slate of two other members, Josh Crompton and Eden Beales Harper, who I have great trust in and who I know are also extremely passionate about the society.
