Amanda Payne

Hi I’m Amanda,

I am a current Social Welfare Law, Policy and Advice Practice student and one of the Academic and Department Representatives.

Between being a mum of three, accessing our fantastic university nursery to sitting on Course Committee Meetings representing my degree. I can also bake some pretty good cakes if I do say so myself!

So what is a vote for me for? Here are my key points;

  •   We should champion our Mental Health, not just our academic success.
  •   A more easily accessible student service, as students we should know where to go before September Welcome Week. Circumstances change and as students we should feel confident in accessing all services from guidance, enabling and well-being to name a few.
  •   I want the LSA’s (Learning Support Agreements) to be a more well-rounded experience. Involving Enabling, YOUR lecturers and YOU as the core – no more unknown, know what help is to hand and have the open dialogue to improve your journey at Staffs
  •   Step Up – Step Up is a unique course to Staffordshire University that we should be proud of and should be at the forefront of open days. It builds confidence and sets their students to succeed in September – I want to ensure these students know how to access all services from the start and know the help is there even after Step Up ends.

A vote for me is a vote for a more inclusive student experience. I do not pretend to know every answer, but I can promise that I will use my knowledge and experiences to find the answers you need and ensure you feel listened to and respected as individuals.

So vote for me Amanda Payne between 19th – 21st March on our union website.
