Hey there, my name is Jay! Outside of society, I study Cartoon and Comic Art, and my reasoning for joining this society is due to a constant love of the Pokemon franchise. My first game I remember playing is Pokemon HeartGold, which I found at a car boot sale when I was around 10, and I have been obsessed with the franchise ever since. I have interests outside of the video games, too, as I'm a casual TCG player, as well as an enjoyer of many of the spinoff games, such as Ranger, Mystery Dungeon, and Pokepark.
But as a Welfare Officer, I feel like I could suit the role for several reasons - first, due to being a mature student, I can help new mature student be integrated into the group. I also identify as non-binary, so I could help members of the LGBTQ+ feel like the society is a safe space for them. I also think I'm a good listener - if anyone was to approach me with problems, I would lend them an ear and hear them out.
In short, I feel like I could be a positive addition to the society committee, and I would be very honoured to be considered for the role!
