Staffs Motor Club - Winning as One

Hello, for those that don’t know me, my name is Harry Walton, I am studying Automotive & Motorsport Engineering and I have been an active member of the Staffs Motor Club since last November, I am currently running for the position of motor club manager for the next academic year.

The club has had a fantastic opening year thanks to everyone involved, allowing us to meet those who share the same passions, build new friendships, experience new things and create fond memories, which I imagine a lot of us will cherish long after university.

I have a positive vision of what this club can grow to be, and I hope that you can believe in me to continue from what was built last year.

In short, what're my plans?

·   A big push for recruitment at the fresher’s fair (and beyond), more people interested in the club would mean more event opportunities, and a greater recognition by the students’ union. This also includes making the club more accessible to those new to the motoring world or people who may initially find it intimidating to join an already established group by ensuring nobody feels out of place.

·   Make sure everyone has the opportunity to share their ideas, talents and passion, so that everyone can have a positive impact on the club.

·   A more active and varied schedule of events (competitive, social, creative and casual) to accommodate for everyone, including those with different skillsets, levels of commitment and/or funding.

·   Grow the reputation of the club through greater social media presence, potentially expanding to produce YouTube content from events.

Thank you for taking time to read this brief manifesto, I hope that you have trust in me to deliver upon these terms and good luck to anyone else running for this position. :)
