VOTE OSBORNE - THE CANDIDATE FOR MATURE AND DISABLED STUDENTS!
1, I will aim to improve the visibility of student support services and promote and improve the already great work that they do working with the University to improve student support, its visibility, and its accessibility for students experiencing a crisis point.
2, I will aim to improve the catering offering of both the students union and university outlets to bring better availability and accessibility for persons who are vegan, gluten-free, dairy free to build on the good all good availability of drinks for these people the current catering provision fails in this respect and persons who are gluten-free dairy free or vegan have a very limited or no choice leading to exclusion I will aim to change this.
3, I will advocate for the ability of disabled students to be able to be their best selves at staff University and worked with the University to ensure timetabling, room availability, locations, and deadlines are accessible for all and not a barrier.
4, I will work with external organisations to coordinate and organise and campaign on students issues such as maintenance loan levels and the cost of being a student to improve the chances of academic success and reduce rates of course attrition.
5, mature students can often face challenges to their academic life including multiple deadlines, child care, finance, home life et cetera. I will aim to ensure and advocate for students to ensure that the University makes its courses and learning as flexible as possible utilising the technologies available and not penalising where there is an alternative solution.
6, finally I will aim that all students should have some fun whilst at uni! After all university life is supposed to be fun!
