Ben Granville's Story
"Ben is absolutely amazing at his job. He is an empathetic person who deals with sensitive subjects with the up most professionalism but also provides so much support. I personally wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Ben who has been helping me since 2016 and he has helped with applying for extenuating circumstances, appeals, helped me organise my workload, encouraged me when I felt lost at university and even just always made time for students if they just wanted to drop in for a chat. He is one of the handful of university staff that I feel really is invested in the welfare of students and never gives up on you. He embodies what this university stands for and really does make me #proudtobestaffs. I have even recommended many other students to go to receive help from him and they have all came back to me with nothing but praise too. I am in so much of a better position now than i was in my second year here, more than anyone will ever even know, and that is mostly down to him, I will never be able to thank him enough but this award would be a good place to start! "
