Proud to be Staffs Story: Jamie Robertson

Student Voice Manager, Students' Union

Supporting our students to engage with the Students' Union charity is the role of every member of the team here at the Students' Union. However, supporting a student to not only engage with us but also take the next step and run in our Leadership Race is a big feat. Thank you Jamie, for making us Proud to be Staffs.

Jamie Robertson's Story

"So, Jamie! I met you way back in September & asked you 110 questions & when asked if I wanted to work for the Union, I gave an adamant 'no!'. How ironic is that now! Since then, you've helped me gain a better understanding of the student's union & how it works. With the ups and downs I've had with and after the leadership race, you've stuck by me, and refused to let me be pulled down by the ignorance of some students. Every issue felt like I was drowning but every time I came to you, you brought it back down to its' real size. You gave me solid advice that helped me move forward with the issues. This reassurance & solidarity has given me confidence in our future as colleagues. So, thank you for all the support and bringing light to what, at times, felt like complete darkness."
