Proud to be Staffs Story: David Lyttleton

Lecturer | School of Digital Arts and Technologoes

"David has been one of my lecturers this year on level 4 illustration. Since day one he has shown a keen interest in students work as well as a passion for the subject. David has gone above and beyond; he responds to emails really quickly. I emailed David over Easter asking for some feedback about my work, he did not need to answer this email because this is outside of his work time, but David took time out of his own life to respond to every email extremely promptly. Not only did he respond, but his responses were incredibly helpful and considered. I have been at university for coming up to two years now and been at college for 3 years prior and I have never had a teacher who is so willing to help. The kindness and passion of David Lyttleton needs to be acknowledged, it is clear that it is more than a job but a passion to him and I have learnt so much more than I would have with his support. He is professional and not afraid to tell you that something doesn't work, a piece of artwork doesn't make the cut for example, yet he gives this critique in a way that is actionable, you know exactly what the feedback is and how to apply it and he did not need to respond in such a considered manner as this. I really hope that he is considered for an award or at the very least who ever his superior is should read this! By far the most genuine teacher I feel I have ever had in all my years studying, nothing is too much of an ask and you do not feel you need to hold back on asking questions. "

We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display you story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
