Who are we?
The Staffordshire Paramedic society was set up to bring together student paramedics and other health care students, we are led by a group of third year paramedics. Going into a healthcare course is challenging and hard to adjust to and it can be very daunting at times. Our aim is to provide a society that supports its member academically and socially throughout their time at university. We will do this by providing social and academic events over the coming year.
Why Join the society?
Firstly, It is a great medium to meet and connect with likeminded students no matter their age, background or stage In the course. Secondly, it looks good on a cv when applying for jobs with the ambulance service in the future. And finally, it gives you full or discounted access to all the CPD and events run by us.
What we offer?
CPD (continues professional development): We aim to organize a variety of CPD sessions, this could take the form of an internal or external speaker, as well as student led sessions such as showing how to organize your own CPD portfolio and how to access good CPD. This will all allow you to focus your own CPD on subjects that interest you.
Social events: We will be organizing many social events throughout the year from our freshers’ events to our charity evet and of course our summer and winter formals which are a great way to celebrate both the end of the academic and calendar year. We hope to see lots of you at these events!
Peer Support: From helping new students adjust to university life to helping with the further development of clinical skills. The society will be able to guide and support its member no matter what level and stage they are.
