Hello! I am Jen, and I am running to be your SU President from 2024-2025, I have been a student at Staffordshire University for three years. During my first year, I volunteered as a member of the subcommittee of The Coven Society, and I was elected president the following year. I ran Witchy Wednesdays and created The Tavern event (alongside other large societies), intending to create an event specifically for our more anxious and neurodiverse members who don’t enjoy large club nights, and I want to continue the work I do for students as your SU President.
Key Points:
1 - Creating a safer and more inclusive campus by creating sensory rooms on campus for neurodiverse students.
2 - Creating a more accessible union! The SU needs to listen and can only do that by making ourselves more present and easily accessible.
3 - University does come to an end, and I want to make sure that students are supported from day one to whatever comes next, whether that be support with postgraduate degrees or employability skills, I want to achieve this by holding regular 'What will I do next?' sessions because our students deserve all and any support that they may need to succeed.
