As social sec, I want to be able to preserve what the society means to people both in training and outside of training. I would also like to understand what freshers and returners want to get out of their time whilst being part of cheer. As social sec, I would bring on skills that I have gained from my time that I have gained whilst being part of cheer. Utilizing skills such as communication and teamwork, whilst bringing in skills from my course such as creativity and collaboration. Finally, as I am a part time student I have more time to focus on organising charity events and more social activities.
- Push for more drinking/non-drinking socials such as The Clubhouse - Newcastle, Rage - Hanley and Tenpin. Work with Welfare sec to continue study sessions.
- Arrange crossover events and maintain connections with different societies such as cue sports, Netball and Womens Rugby.
- Look into sponsorships
- Arrange more Charity events like the Walk for Isabella, Movember and Operation Christmas Child.
- Raise more awareness - as social sec I want to make it one of my goals for making new/current students that may not be aware that we exist as a society. Through posters around campus in union venues and supporting different teams.
- Introduce team building nights - Games nights and team building activities such as Kahoot, cards against humanity, Jackbox and different quizzes.
- Pre-comp socials (i.e. what you need to know and comp dances and peg making).
- Socials with Keele Panthers - Continue the new tradition for Varsity 2025 and organise socials.
- Introduce committee and discuss what is expected in terms of behaviour and attitude towards cheer.
- Set personal goals and and achievements for freshers and returners.
- Finally, I will NOT fill the Scarlettes social media pages with memes.
