As a third-year game design student I have experienced a lot of what staffs has to offer, both from the London campus where I study, and trips to the Stoke campus; there is a lot to love about staffs, and be proud of, but there is room to grow and change. If I am voted in as a offier, I will do my upmost to represent the student body.
My three main points I will be working towards should I be voted in are:
1. Improving student engagement through the student experience
Achieved By:
*More Academic mentorship and guidance
*Furthering Employment opportunities
*Fun events and workshops at all campuses for students to have a chance to engage with peers
*Working with socieites to put on bigger events, workshops and functions
2.Enhancing two-way communication with the university so students' voices are heard, and students feel connected to the university, for both the main campus and satellite campuses
Achieved By:
*Helping facilitate clear communication from university management
*Trying to create open forums with university staff for students to ask questions
*Posted roadmaps for important changes that affect the student body
3. Focusing on student well-being to enable students to get the most out of their university experience
Achieved By:
*Holding open forums to find out what student's needs are and developing action plans to address those needs
*Working with the student well-being and guidance teams to help safeguard vulnerable students
Action plan:
Should I be voted in, my first focus will be on speaking to students from all year groups and various courses to find out exactly what you believe to be the best way to achieve these goals and developing a full road map and action plan for all students to see, so we can Experience Change together.
