Hi, I'm Joseph, my manifesto this year is primarily about creating actual tangible experiences for students.

These can be separated into 3 main points:

→  Hosting relevant and fun industry events on campus for students to get involved with, interact with industry professionals, and hopefully create employment opportunities.

→  Actually utilising the resources and strategic positioning of the London campus for the betterment of the university as a whole. (Events, industry links etc.)

→  Increase out-of-hours campus accessibility to enable students without resources at home to get the experience they've paid for.

I'm running for my second term as officer, so I know all of these points are attainable within the next year. Some of them I've already started; I'm speaking to multiple Game Dev orgs about having expos on our campus with free entry for students and I'm also speaking to Beacon (a cyber security group) about having high-level networking events our students can attend. If given another year, I will try to get real employment opportunities for all students at staffs.

If you're curious about what else I've been up to over the past year, have a look at my officer updates on the union page, for example, I aided the creation of the new staff guidance on AI usage within their courses, (namely creative ai usage) by getting tons of student feedback, thoughts, and opinions, and then reporting it directly to the higher ups.
