Connect the Unconnected

Having been a course rep since 2020, Society Committee and student staff for the Student Union, I have seen the issues at Staffs from many points of view. This year has been particularly difficult for students at Staffs, so vote for Leah to help connect our unconnected University to provide a better student experience!

My Key Points!

  • Communication

Communication from the University is lacking, and often causes problems for students. Newsletters often focus on irrelevant information, with information on closures, opportunities, and other news impacting students being buried. Likewise, it is difficult for students contact the University about problems, and this leads to a feeling that the University ignores them. There is also little opportunity for students to interact between different campuses, causing an unavoidable divide. As an officer, I would work with the University to fix these issues for all students going forward.

  • Better Access to Workspaces, Software and Facilities

This year has seen many 24/7 buildings have their hours changed, as well as seeing buildings like Cadman become almost unusable on some days due to a lack of space. Some software licenses have also been taken away from at home access and this is making university difficult for students to keep up with work. I want to bring back this access for students who require it to keep up with their studies!

  • Student Support

Access to Student Support can always be better, with the struggle for students to have their issues resolved as well as a genuine confusion from many on how to access help when they need it being a major concern. I would like to work with the services we have to support students to help students here feel safer and more supported during their time here.

Connect the Unconnected, Vote Leah on 23-25th April!
