About Us
Whether you're just learning your first Shoryuken, or you're deep into mastering Doctor Doom TAC infinites (if you know, you know): from budding newcomers to veterans of the genre, Staffs Fight Club is the society for you! A place full of friendly fighting gamers where you can hang out, play games and improve your skills - Fight Club is open to all!
The only thing you need to bring is a controller and preferably a wire to connect to the PCs as Bluetooth isn't reliable with the Uni PCs
The Rules
- Always talk about Fight Club (the more members, the merrier!!)
- Don't be a salt mine, be respectful to others!
- Settle disputes in-game, we're not a real fight club.
- Let people enjoy things - there's a lot of fighting games out there.
- Have fun!
Sounds great! When do we meet?
We meet every Thursday evening for our casual meetup where people bring their consoles, games and controllers to run sets and have fun! Steam is already loaded onto the PC setups in our room, so your library is easily accessible. For any special events, make sure to join our discord community to be the first to find out, as well as interact with the committee and both past/current members.

Meet The Team
Society Leader: Frankie (ThePlagueDog) (Any/All)
The God of Thunder, he keeps the society up and running. She is also here to keep up morale between losses.
Main games include: Mortal Kombat, literally the whole series (Johnny Cage), Guilty Gear Strive (Nagoriyuki), Street Fighter 6 (Dee Jay), UMVC3 (Wesker, Frank West, Chris Redfield)
Informally known as "The Johnny Cage Guy", Frankie has only been playing fighting games for 1 year and is always looking for new opponents to hone their skills. She always wants people to have fun first and win later and is generally a person to come to when frustrated with your skills or how matches turned out. Also will chew your ear off about mortal kombat lore.
Communications:
Finance: Ryan (Backshots) (He/Him)
They call him Daigo, he manages our resources and mashes buttons. Tired of DP on his wakeup, it's time to DP on oki.
I play Street Fighter 6 (JP), Strive (Goldlewis), Marvel Infinite (Ultron/Nova/Space), Tekken 8 (Bears), Ultra Street Fighter IV (Evil Ryu), UNIB 2 (Lond), Killer Instinct (Kan-Ra) and the easiest character you can give me in a fighting game I don't know very well (shoto if possible hehe)
Ryan is usually known as Backshots, and enters tournaments under this name, which makes it very funny for Tournament Organisers and casters, but the downside is most FGC people refer to this man as Backshots, even in public. Ryan, Backshots and Daigo are all names he responds to
Wellbeing and Inclusion: Dan (Danksli) (He/Him)
Very loud and way too commited to the bit, he will act as anyone's hype man whenever you need him to. As wellbeing officer, it's Dan's job to make sure everyone feels welcome at Fight Club, and has their opinions and interests represented within the society.
Plays a lot of tag team fighters, mainly UMVC3 (Magneto/Doom/Dante). Also plays MvC2 (Sentinel/Gambit/Cyclops), DBFZ (S.Broly/Trunks/Yamcha), SF6 (Ken), SFV (Balrog), Tekken 8 (Kazuya and Paul), Guilt Gear Strive (anyone) but down to play almost anything.
Danksli will attempt to style on anyone who plays against him, but then sit down to talk for hours and make several documents to help anyone who asks for it. He gets way too excited as soon as anyone even mentions UMVC3 and loves to share the games he's passionate about with anyone who shows interest.
