Disciplinary, Grievance and Performance Management | Students' Union Team Intranet
Here at the Students' Union our people make us proud every day, through the amazing work they do to support our students and our charity. We recognise that sometimes things don't go to plan and that circumstances beyond our shared control can lead individuals into challenging times. When these times occur, we want to ensure that our team are supported, treated fairly and understand the steps we will take to identify the facts of the matter.
The nature of this support for our people can be split into three key sections:
- Disciplinary Procedures
- Grievance Procedures
- Performance Management Procedures
Disciplinary Procedures
A disciplinary procedure outlines the ways in which an employer may address unacceptable or improper behaviour (described as misconduct). It is our practice to deal with things informally first, with the support of your line manager, before proceeding with formal arrangements.
You can access the Disciplinary Procedures here.
Grievance Procedures
Staffordshire University Students’ Union has designed this procedure so you, the employee, are aware that the Union listens and is always looking at continuous improvement. The grievance procedure aims to complement the Union suggestion scheme and complaints scheme. It aims to be an open, honest process that keeps you informed. The Union welcomes grievances as they are a way to ensure continuous improvement in our service provision.
You can access the Grievance Procedure here.
Performance Management Procedures
Staffordshire University Students’ Union entrusts its volunteers and employees with high levels of responsibility and is committed to delivering an excellent quality of service for our students and customers. We require certain levels of conduct and performance from all of our people, and for volunteers and employees to adhere to Students’ Union policies, procedures and values. We do not tolerate disrespectful behaviour, misconduct or underperformance.
You can view the Performance Management Procedures here.
