As can be noted on this website

And the map shown on
https://www.desmog.co.uk/2019/07/16/only-seven-uk-universities-are-committed-investing-renewables-over-fossil-fuels
Staffordshire University currently holds £2,304,000 in Fossil Fuel investments.
Considering this a university with a £35,720 stake in renewable energy research, this large investment of fossil fuels invalidates and mocks the great work already done by students and staff in this area.
I propose that the University immediately Divests from fossil fuels and uses this money to reinvest in renewable alternatives.
It is our opinion the University is not taking climate change seriously enough in its actions and subsequent messages.
A TEF Gold teaching establishment with high rankings among league tables and who have been shortlisted for University Of The Year would do well to treat the future of their students and their campus with more respect.
Lead with an example for all students, staff and other universities to follow.
