Student Loans | Finance
Student Loans can be confusing, with 'The Students Loan Company' in place to manage your payments. You payment depends on your threshold, employment and can vary depending on the plan you are on.
The earliest you will start repaying your student loan is either;
- The April after you leave your course
- The April 4 years after the course started (if you are studying part time)
Your payments will automatically stop if either;
- You stop working
- Your income goes below the threshold
Thresholds (before tax and other deductions)
- Plan 1 – £364 per week or £1,577 per month
- Plan 2 - £494 per week or £2,143 per month
- Postgraduate - £404 per week or £1,750 per month
It is possible that you may be on more than 1 plan depending on your course
