Location | Housing
Choosing a location to live in can be one of the most important decisions for you to make and there are lots of questions you should be asking yourself:
- What kind of location suits you best?
- The heart of a big city?
- The suburbs?
- The countryside?
- What are the transport links like?
- How easy is it to get to the shops?
- How long is your commute to work?
- How close do you want to be to family or friends?
- What is there to do locally?
- Are there community groups you’d want to get involved with like sports clubs or allotment associations?
- How close are you to the things you like doing, whether that’s going to the cinema, pub or restaurants?
It’s also really important to think about the cost of living and what you can afford. For example, it’s more expensive to live in London than it is Stoke-on-Trent and Council Tax varies in price across the country.
You might also want to check out the crime stats or information on local schools.
If you’re moving to a new area that you’re not familiar with, it’s always worth walking around and talking to your potential neighbours to get a feel for the place
