Marketing at our Students' Union is far more than ensuring our messages are heard. Our team lead on data and insight, digital, communications, internal comms and general marketing; no small feat for a small team of 4 full-time team members. Led by Andy, the team have achieved wonderful things this year and Andy continues to inspire them to go the extra mile. Thank you Andy, for making us Proud to be Staffs.

Andrew Barnett's Story

"Student Unions are probably one of the most interesting places to work because of how you must have strengths being both proactive and reactive. Andy is someone that has ensured that the Marketing department within the Students’ Union has improved in both areas considerably over the last academic year. We have had some of our highest online engagement the Students’ union has ever had, whilst also upgrading all the back-end of systems that students do not see, all to improve upon the student experience. I have particularly been proud of how the Students’ Union has responded during the Covid-19 situation, ensuring community and communication to students and looking at others, our union is within the top Student Unions in the country for the response and a main contributor to this is Andy. I think another thing that makes Andy great as the Marketing Manager is that he will always challenge the way we have done things, prioritising resources, but ensuring the quality put out is of a high standard students should expect whilst motivating those around him to go that extra mile. "
