Proud to be Staffs Story: Bee Swann-Thomas
Student, LSE
We all occasionally need a helping hand with our Mental Health and we're lucky to be part of a supportive and friendly community here at Staffordshire University. For your ongoing support of our students, thank you Bee for making us Proud to be Staffs.
Bee Swann-Thomas's Story
"I am currently suffering from anxiety with depression. Various points throughout the academic year have found it extremely difficult to feel motivated and enthused about course work/assignments. I can say with hand on heart, that without Bee's support with coping mechanisms and listening to my issues that I would of withdrawn from the course. She has gone above and beyond her remit, not only does she provide a calm, relaxed and approachable manner, she also helps me with academical issues, signposting me to various agencies in dealing with money issues, going through the intricates of the DSA paperwork and does all this without complaint - no issue is to small for her not to help. She should be commended for her work and recognised as the massive asset she is to the university in helping people who suffer from mental health issues. She is one of the reasons why I am Proud to be Staffs."
We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display you story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
