Proud to be Staffs Story: Cathy Rutherford
Senior Lecturer, School of Life Sciences and Education
Studying here at Staffordshire University should be inspiring, encouraging us to be the best we can be and to explore new and exciting features of our chosen specialisms. Cathy has clearly been an inspiring lecturer from their very first day to lead to such a wonderful nomination. Thank you, Cathy, for making us Proud to be Staffs.
Cathy Rutherford's Story
"I have worked in many different schools and I have never met someone that talks about their profession as proudly and with such joy to pass on knowledge as all of the lecturers on my course. Cathy has been one of the people that really pushes me to do better and has filled me with confidence, she is so approachable and caring to everyone. Listening to Cathy talk about teaching has shown me that my passion is important and absolutely needed to further my career. She has gone above and beyond for me to help me to keep to my potential and I really appreciate her love for her role, as most of the lecturers do. I do think she deserves a special mention as she has only just started in this role herself and is phenomenal. If I am half as encouraging as Cathy when I have my own class, I will be immensely proud. "
We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display you story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
