Proud to be Staffs Story: Jo Johnson
Counsellor
Here at your Students' Union, we agree with our Students that Mental Health is a critical priority for our community. There are some amazing people here on campus that support the mental health of our community, sometimes through simple acts of kindness and others through their professional work. Jo has been nominated by several students, but one particularly told us very eloquently, how much of a difference it can make by asking for help. Thank you Jo, for making us Proud to be Staffs.
Jo Johnson 's Story
"Jo is an empathetic and passionate mentor for students at the university. She is empowering and motivational, and that has been essential to my progression within university. Utilising the tools she has given me, I have seen enormous improvements in my ability to believe in myself and my work, and I am also now able to deal with panic attacks etc effectively so I can stay afloat and get work done and meet my goals. If the university could clone her, I’d recommend it. The world would be a better place with more Jo’s. "
We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display you story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
