What happened to the online database?
Staffordshire University Students' Union used to operate an online volunteering database just for Students here at Staffordshire University. But we asked whether that was best for our volunteering providers and our students.
Students wanted a database of opportunities that would be available wherever they were in the UK. They wanted greater control over the opportunities they saw and a much wider range of opportunities to choose from.
Volunteering Providers wanted to recruit volunteers and didn't want to duplicate their online registrations and information.
In response to this feedback we sought a partnership with the UK's largest online database of Volunteering Opportunities, do-it.org. This high-quality database lists opportunities from all around the country and we've so far found that many of the partners on our database had similar registrations on here anyway!
