Engineering X SCS! All systems go on an educational soldering sesh hosted by engineering society to teach our committee and members how to solder.
Soldering Session!
Last week, we warmed up the frosty Stoke weather with some LED tinkering and soldering magic! Huge thanks to the amazing Engineering Society for hosting an educational and super fun soldering session. It was a blast learning a new skill, with both committee members and attendees getting hands-on with soldering irons and circuits. This event highlighted something essential: collaboration is key. Computing spans such a wide range of topics—cybersecurity, gaming, mathematics, electronics—and we can’t tackle it all alone. That’s why teaming up with societies like Engineering is so powerful. Together, we’re not only learning new skills but also growing stronger as a community.
What We Achieved
-
🔧 Mastered the basics of soldering (with a few mishaps along the way—learning curve, right?)
-
💡 Built LED projects and gained hands-on experience in a new area.
-
🤝 Strengthened ties between our societies, paving the way for more collaborative events.
Looking Ahead
This is just the start! While spots were limited this time, we’re committed to expanding future opportunities. By sharing knowledge and working together, we’ll continue to enhance both employability and academic learning for all our members. A massive shoutout to our hosts and to everyone who participated—you’ve all made this a soldering session to remember. Let’s keep building, learning, and growing together.
Stay tuned for more events and collabs, because the future is all about upskilling and collaboration! 🧠⚙️
