FACS is back!

The forensic and Crime Science Society is well and truly back in operation with many exciting events planned to help budding investigators sharpen their skills, have some fun, and network for potential career opportunities. FACS isn't just for future forensic investigators/ scientists however, we are open to any who have an interest in crime and the amazing people who work to solve it.

With our resurrection, we have already begun to organize some great events! From solving the murder of Chloe Whitton during our murder mystery night to going into the lab to explore how alternate light sources reveal hidden information that might go unseen otherwise. And we aren't stopping there either! We have some grand ideas to work with Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service to plant evidence in one of their controlled burn rooms and then attempt to recover it after the room is burnt down. We also have the marvelous opportunity to meet Dr. Maria Maclennan! A phenomenal woman who carved her own niche in forensics by following her passion for jewelry. Dr. Maclennan will be delivering a speech to FACS over Teams on February 5th, informing us all about her fascinating work linking lost migrants to their identity. On February 19th we will once more be donning our lab coats and stepping into the world of forensic Palynology (pollen and other microorganisms) as we explore what pollen prints mean in terms of crime scenes

Sign up to FACS to get the latest in our events and don't miss any opportunity to expand your knowledge on the world of crime and the people who fight it!
