Hi all,

It's International Women and Girls in Science Day! Today highlights the importance of gender diversity and inclusivity in education, the scientific community and the workplace.

Historically, women have faced barriers of challenges in STEM related fields, some due to stereotypical bias. Despite this, women have made a variety of significant contributions to science and historical progress. Did you know a woman invented the first computer? Did you know a woman discovered the shape of DNA? Did you know a woman invented ice cream? The works of Ada Lovelace, Rosalind Franklin and Nancy Johnson are just three of many who have accomplished amazing things in history. There are thousands more from different ages, ethnicities and historical time frames who deserve recognition.

Let's use today to recognise the incredible contributions women have made to science and inspire the next generation of incredible scientists, engineers and mathematicians. You can do it!
