At Staffordshire University Students’ Union, we are committed to inclusion and condemn the recent political violence and discrimination that has been reported in towns and cities across the UK.

As a Global University, we are proud of our diverse communities and are committed to tackling any form of discrimination through our work - #NoExcuse

Reporting Hate Crimes & Hate Incidents

If you experience or witness any hate crime or incident, please consider reporting so you can access support.

We can support you in making a report to the police or an anonymous report - it is completely your choice. Anything you tell us will remain strictly confidential.

SafeZone

Students can download the SafeZone app, which has emergency support as well as non-urgent wellbeing assistance options to self-refer to our Student Wellbeing and Safeguarding team, or link to other support teams at the university.

Faith and spirituality

Mick the Vic, our university chaplain, manages the Chaplaincy service here at the University. With the help of volunteer advisors from many faiths, he offers support to students and staff alike.

Student Wellbeing

We all experience problems and difficulties that affect our mental wellbeing and as a student, you may well find yourself experiencing some of these.

  • Stop Hate UK: Provides support to individuals affected by hate crime.
  • Tell MAMA: Offers a confidential service for those who experience anti-Muslim hate.
  • Victim Support: Provides free and confidential support to victims of crime.
  • The Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS): Offers advice on discrimination and human rights issues.
  • Mind: A mental health charity providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
  • Samaritans: Available 24/7 to provide emotional support for those in distress.
