Some proud students told us...

"Amdram is such a welcoming, fun environment, with incredibly hard working members and committee. It's clear everyone there loves what they do. The society does so much more than the title seems. We've had opportunities to learn venue lighting and sound technology, stage hand work, costume design, improv, scripted work, voice training / vocal warmups, singing, scare acting, and so much more. I've made so many friends in that society, and we still meet up pretty regularly outside of session just to hang out. Being in the society also completely revived my love for theatre, performance and singing 🌟. It's a regular part of my uni experience and I couldn't be happier about it."

"The committee are incredibly hard working for a society with such a large workload. Evie especially, who's been an Ace at organising all of the rehearsal schedules, writing the script, running us through vocal warmups, directing scenes, making sure every member is happy and comfortable with their part in the show, and so much more. The society would without a doubt not be the same without her."

"Am Dram manager, Evie is a supporter of everyone they meet. She has gone out of her way to help and support us as a new society.even leaving her sessions to help with support in ours helping with events and planning and when our show cancelled she took on any members from glee that would like to take part. I couldn’t think of another person that has genuinely got the kindest heart and compassion for anyone she meets and I genuinely wish her the best. Thank you for supporting your own society, others and the students of staffs uni. I honestly have no idea how you have the time for it."

"They've been so supportive and understanding for a lot of different things. The Amateur Dramatics society is a wonderful community, always supporting others. Evie Brown, despite what she's going through, always makes sure the people in the society feels comfortable, and in regards to managing all the events the society is putting on, has done a fantastic job. And the same goes for the rest of the committee members and the society members. I am really glad I joined this society."

"This group allowed me to express myself in ways I haven’t before, it also gave me more friends then I would ever need."

"The members are nothing but kind and strong. The leader is truly a fantastic woman with such strong personality and power. They’re ambitious, Welcoming and kind. Ive met my fiancee in this society and I wouldn’t have it any other way"

"Amdram is an absolutely wonderful society. The entire society are warm and welcoming, encouraging new members to push their boundaries and explore skills in acting, singing, and all aspects of performance. Every single one of them works extremely hard to put on the best performances- especially the committee who pour their souls into the society. Without amdram, I don't know if I'd have stayed in univeristy as long as I have. It has given me the courage and the skills to be more social, outgoing, and to be a kinder and more open minded studnet. We all talk inside and out of the sessions, and they are all such wonderful people and souls that I am incredibly grateful for."

"Being part of Amdram has been one of the best experiences of uni so far. I feel like I have found a group of people who truly care about me and like me for who I am. We often hang out out of session and no one talks badly about anyone in the society because we truly love and respect everyone that wants to be part of this wonderful society. We are currently working towards performing Jekyll and Hyde the musical in May and I feel honoured to be surrounded by the most dedicated and talented group of people I have ever met. Everyone is truly excited to come to session and everyone practices outside of session and will never turn down an invitation to work even more towards the show. I am truly lucky to be a part of Amdram and to call them all my friends."

Thank you Amateur Dramatics Society & Evie Brown for making a positive difference for students here at Staffs.
