09/09 - Last week, I attended the RIEC meeting this week, which focused on research ethics and strategies for the upcoming years. The Course Monitoring session went well as we discussed ways to better support our students and address departmental challenges. The Timetabling and Shared Learning Spaces meeting was also productive, we reported several timetabling issues to colleagues and developed plans to prevent similar issues in the future.
16/09 - I participated in a focus group discussing the challenges faced by international students and explored ways to better support them. The Students' Union has hired around 90 new student team members, and we were invited to be part of their training day, which was an amazing experience. I also met with the Careers Team to share officers' priorities for the next year and to collaborate on my manifesto goals. I volunteered at the Verve BBQ, welcoming new students who had just moved into ResLife. It was great to see the campus vibrancy again.
23/09 - I attended some key meetings, like the Students' Union Liaison Committee which included discussion around course monitoring, broader student experience and Student Unions’ Engagement report. Also, I attended Digital Transformation Board where we had discussion around Student Front Door and other Digital Services. I also participated in the Academic Services Fair, the Trade Unions and Students' Union Meeting, Connected Communities session which focused on ongoing community engagement, and I also attended the Autumn Graduation planning meeting.
30/09 - Unfortunately, I caught the flu during Welcome Week and was down for two days (still recovering), but I (alongside other Union teams) managed to set up stalls throughout the two weeks of enrolment to welcome our new students. I attended the OFS Official Visit, where we discussed the Officers' and Student Unions's priorities for the year ahead.
