I bid farewell to Martin (one of our wonderful Students' Union Advisors), contributed to the International Student Working Group, volunteered at the Sikh Temple for Vaisakhi, collaborated at the NUS Conference in Blackpool, and worked with the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Events and Campaigns Working Group. I ensured a memorable graduation experience for all students at the Summer Graduation Planning Meeting. As part of the Leadership Race 2024, I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been one of the 18 contestants and for securing the Sabbatical Officer position again this year. Congratulations to Joseph Knight, Precious, and Leah on their election as officers. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported me.

07/05 - Last week, I was at the Installation of Chancellor, a significant event marking a new chapter for Staffs University. I participated in the Beacon User Group meeting, contributing insights to enhance our institutional digital processes. SUIG meeting addressed the gender gap among different ethnicities among staff and students, as well as pay gap rates. It is reassuring to see a proactive stance and progress in these areas. Had some catch-ups with the Head of the Department of Computing and Engineering for important discussions on departmental matters and strategies. At the end of the week, there was a farewell for our Engagement Coordinator, Kyle, which was a bittersweet moment, highlighting his contributions to our Union.

13/05 - Last week, I participated in a Disciplinary Hearing, ensuring adherence to community standards, and was part of the Leadership Team Meeting, which allowed me to take part in various Union matters, strategizing for effective outcomes. At the Digital Transformation Board Meeting, we exchanged updates on ongoing projects and engaged in discussions to progress forward. I have begun crafting my manifesto for the upcoming academic year of 2024/25.

20/05 - I was involved in several key activities. I participated in ResLife recruitment for ResLife Assistants (RLAs), Residential Services Assistants, and the ResLife Engagement Lead, contributing to the selection of new team members. I attended a "Welcome Session" meeting with the new officers for 2024/25, sharing my experiences and insights as an officer. I took part in the Union Trustee Board Meeting, addressing important governance matters and was part of several Misconduct Panels, ensuring fair and just proceedings.

28/05 - Last week was relatively quiet due to the summer. I participated in a Contest Protect Meeting where the university proposed making ACT training available for students on Blackboard. I also attended a Prevent Meeting and the DTIB - School Academic Committee, where we discussed departmental updates on courses, external assessors and more, both for Engineering and Computing. Additionally, I was involved in a Student Member Disciplinary and had my monthly catch-up with the Heads of Departments for Engineering and Computing which went very well.
