Financial support you may not know about!

main

With the final Student Finance Payment of the year being later than usual all students need to know where they can go should they require additional support.

At the University of Staffordshire, there are several support mechanisms in place to assist you in your studies should you end up in need of financial support.

From a University perspective here is the support available:

Student Success (Support) Fund - The Student Success (Support) Fund is a discretionary fund available to undergraduate, and home for fee students experiencing severe financial hardship. Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis.  You can access more information about the fund via the website here

Additional bursaries are available via this website. It is really important to check the availability of these bursaries throughout the year so you don't miss out on the opportunity for additional financial support!

In terms of support from the Students' Union, we offer Food vouchers for students who are struggling! Your friendly team are here to support you.

If you're struggling with your finances or need access to our FoodHub service, please get in touch.

  • Discuss your situation with one of these advisers, who will support you in getting access to our FoodHub, as well as this we offer advice to try and help you reach a situation in which you can reliably afford essentials.

  • The adviser will tell you how you'll receive FoodHub support (we usually email an electronic supermarket voucher).

There is a limit on how often FoodHub can help in a single Academic Year, but still reach out to one of these teams even if you think you might have reached the FoodHub usage limit. These teams can also refer students to Trussell Trust Foodbanks or might be able to think of other short-term resources you could access.
