Thank you to: Joana De Jesus
Student | Course Rep
A proud student told us...
"As the sole course rep for the Primary PGCE, Joana has been an incredible advocate for the student voice, communicating with the faculty to feedback on the group thoughts. Consistently organised, thoughtful and committed to her role as course rep, Joana keeps detailed notes and collects group suggestions to improvements, changes and any issues to improve our experience and future cohorts, also. The workload for all of us on the Primary PGCE is extensive and Joana still finds time to attend meetings, correspond with staff, and always has time to listen to the needs of her peers, which we are infinitely grateful for. She is an amazing student and deserves to be celebrated for her hard work.
Joana is an amazing woman who supports her peers and is open for comments and suggestions to improve our experiences. Joana has strategic, organised notes and approaches which enable her to give the cohort a voice in student feedback meetings, pushing for change, in line with solutions the class has thought of to aid in improvements. After each meeting and discussion with staff, Joana is clear and firm about expectations and outcomes, relaying any changes which impact upon our studies. As always, Joana, works tirelessly to make lasting changes to elevate our academic and holistic development through her work as course rep.
Throughout the year, Joana has attended meetings and consistently collected feedback along with suggestions for solutions to aid in course development. This is also then reported back to the group, where Joana tells us of action points, response from the staff, and how our suggestions will be used, talking in person or online so that all have a voice and opportunity to talk with her. Any issues or suggestions that are recurring, Joana is a fierce champion for her cohort, ensuing that their comments are heard, discussed, and actioned, all single-handedly due to her being the only course rep for the group."
Thank you Joana for your dedication to representing your peers.
We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display your story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
