A photograph of Leah Thompson (full-time officer) shouting into a megaphone, in front of dark purple text that reads LEAH: MY UPDATES02/09 - Last week, our team met with the student support teams to discuss shared issues and priorities relating to our manifestos - and with me looking after the area of "Belonging", I had a good conversation with the support services on how my manifesto relates to them! I also had the first catch-up meeting with the head of the Games Institute regarding issues to expect this year. I am also currently working on writing up some feedback about one of the consistent issues with a certain module to inform changes being made to the structure.

09/09 - This week, we did the second of our meetings on a project we want to collaborate with Staffs TV on this year, providing not only a fun project for students to get involved with but something that should hopefully function as an excellent way to build some better bridges between our Students Union and you when it comes to the information we put out! I'm personally really excited to see how this project goes as it's looking promising so far, stay tuned!

16/09 - For the first week of students being back on campus, we started the rollout of our interactive campus tour/scavenger hunt for students coming onto campus (something I put together a lot of the content for!) This included not only some key locations on campus but also some lore about some of the buildings we have, university history and even a hunt for what I would consider one of the most fun rooms to find on campus! This should hopefully help equip our students with not only a good knowledge of what buildings/facilities we have for students to access, but a good understanding of where people can find what they need!

23/09 - Welcome Week has been incredibly fun - from attending Stoke and Stafford welcome fairs to being involved with a visit with OfS (Office for Students). One of the highlights of this week for me was our "Adopt a Society" sign finally going up outside of Ember Lounge - listing a lot of our previous societies that no longer exist. This was an idea that I picked up from when we visited University of Birmingham, and I'm really glad that it seems to be going well!
