This week saw the first of the Staffs Women In STEM Society Collaboration Mixer events taking place in Verve.
The focus of the event was to bring together members of STEM related societies to discuss ideas and opportunities spanning each of the groups to broaden the scope of engagement and learning from eachother; building connections, sharing experiences and planning future events together too.
Attending group members represented Staffs Computing Society, Forensics & Crime Society, Staffordshire University Racing and Staffs Engineering Society and there were fellow allies (those that don't identify as a woman in STEM) who also joined and supported our cause.
Introductions, presentations, and knowledge sharing with plenty of activities included; scavenger hunt, pictionary, charades and 'This or That' helped worked up an appetite for snacks and sweets treats.
The event was a huge success with partnerships being forged and foundations for future collaborations being laid.
It's great to see student groups coming together to support eachother and we're looking forward to seeing the next Mixer in action...
