clubsandsocsmainptbscommunity

Supporting good causes, charity fundraising, raising awareness and helping others has been high on the agenda for a number of our groups this past month.

Our student groups have baked cakes, sold raffle tickets and hosted a range of events to benefit their charities of choice, this month's student group recognition pays homage to the selfless work that our volunteers have dedicated to helping others.

Student Group of the Month November 2024 is awarded to the Islamic Society - who managed to raise £539.53 for Islamic Relief

Bakes sales, cake decorating, sports events and charity collections were some of the activities that the team hosted throughout a week of dedicated volunteering, to raise funds for their chosen charity.

Raising a grand total of £539.53 was an amazing feat which was also recognised at the Islamic Relief Midlands Awards where the society was nominated for an award for going above and beyond in Charity Week.

Congraulations Islamic Society!

Special mentions this month go to our other big hearted student groups who have also been busy raising money and awareness:

Staffs Scarlettes have also promoted men's mental health throughout the month, hosted Bring a Buddy and sold raffle tickets to raise money for Movember:

Well done Scarlettes for raising £244 for your chosen charity.

Psychology Society rocked Ember Lounge, bringing live bands and banging music to the venue to raise funds for the LGBTQ+ Network transition fund

£136 raised in ticket sales to benefit the important fund supporting our students.

We're so proud of all our student groups, dedicating their time and energy to support good causes.

A huge congratulations to the Islamic Society and our generous student groups and committee leaders.

You all help to make us feel proud to be part of Staffs.
