Opportunity description:

Are you passionate about communications, design and youth empowerment? Woodcraft Folk is looking for volunteers in our Communications Team. This is an exciting role with an opportunity to get stuck into a variety of live briefs where some industry training will also be provided.

This is an exciting time to join the youth organisation as it celebrates its centenary. Woodcraft Folk is a youth organisation based in the UK that works with young people of all ages through their local group network, activity programme and outdoor education centres across the country and beyond. 

Within this role you will be supporting the Communications Manager to promote the work of the charity across a variety of channels to a range of audiences.

Training:

 All volunteers will receive relevant workplace training.

Skills and development:

 Volunteers are required to have:

-Experience of using social media platforms for promotion

-Copywriting skills

-Creative flair   

-Design skills

- Ideally knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, non-essential

Volunteers will be:

-Social media content creation and scheduling

- Graphic design support such as creating posters and social media graphics 

- Basic video editing 

- Updating image library 

- Writing news stories

-Supporting with campaign delivery

Volunteer development:

- A chance to have your work in the public view 

- Experience of working on real life briefs

- Develop skills in problem solving, graphic design, illustration, social media marketing, communications and branding 

- Take part in rewarding youth work
