Opportunity description:

 Open to UK Higher Education students. We are looking for up to 10 students to join our advisory panel and help YGAM achieve its social purpose by reaching out to students at university. This will be achieved by advising YGAM on the needs of students, supporting with content development and opportunities to run events on your campus, and join us at these events to raise the profile of students' experiences of gaming and gambling whilst at university.

 Student Ambassadors will:

  • Meet with other members of the student advisory board up to 6 times per year to discuss key issues within the gaming and gambling industries ensuring that the voice of students and young people are heard.
  • Advise YGAM on key areas where the student voice is being lost or where students are not being protected from harm to inform further development of the charity.
  • Provide insight and understanding from a student perspective to help inform the YGAM work and ensure it remains relevant and impactful.
  • Uphold the YGAM values and social purpose when talking to external organisations or individuals.

 Person specification:

  • Post holders should be current UK students in HE.
  • We are seeking passionate individuals who can work collaboratively with other members of the board and the wider charity team towards the YGAM social purpose to inform, educate and safeguard young people from gaming and gambling harms.
  • You will have a drive and passion to make a difference.
  • You will be committed to social change.
  • You will be able to commit time voluntarily to support the mission of the programme.
  •  You will have excellent organisation skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience of being on an advisory board is not necessary, more important is your excitement for the role and desire to learn.
  • Experience of gambling and/or gaming related-harms is not a pre-requisite, but we encourage those who have to apply.

Training:

 Training, if needed, will be provided.
