What is Welcome?

'Welcome' is the name that we give to the period of time at the start of every academic year when students are heading onto (or back onto!) campus, usually starting around mid-September. During this time, we put together a programme of events and opportunities to ensure all students - new and returning - are feeling comfortable, excited and ready to start the academic year!

What's On?

The Welcome programme includes all sorts of great opportunities, where you can Meet your Officers, or take part in student group Give It A Go sessions.

The annual Welcome Fairs are not to be missed; taking place at Stoke on 25th September, London on 26th September and Stafford on 27th September.

Your calendar of events is found on the Students' Union's What's On page, where you can check out the huge range of things to get involved in, including Breakfast Club & Campus Orientation at London, Get to know you Union at Stafford, and Meet your Networks at Stoke, amongst loads of other new and exciting things for you to do.

There's so much going on, sometimes it difficult to keep up!  Be sure to check the website regularly, as we're constantly adding new events throughout the year.

When Can I Get Involved?

Anytime you like, there's always lots going on around campus! Some students jump straight in and join clubs and societies in their first week - others prefer to ease themselves in more slowly and try out a few different activities at a slower pace. Whatever you decide is fine by us - we're always ready to welcome you to any and all of our events, activities and venues.

Speaking of venues, The Big Social in LRV on 25th September is a club night not to missed (get your tickets in advance!), and Karaoke in Ember Lounge every Tuesday is always a firm favourite (Our top tip: arrive early for this one, it's a popular night!).

So whether your new to Staffs, or a returning student:

Welcome (welcome back) to our Staffs community, there's so much going on and loads of opportunities to make new friends / catch up with old ones, have fun, try new things and Enjoy!
