The University name change means we now have to consider our name - and we need your votes to do it!
This year's Leadership Race also includes a referendum on our name, so we need your voice to amend our Constitution!
In September 2024, the Office for Students (OfS) approved a name change for the University to become the University of Staffordshire, but your Students' Union is still registered with the Charity Commission as Staffordshire University Students' Union (CIO 11733301).
This means that the current legal name is no longer accurate, so the Trustees of the Students Union prompted an update the legal name of the Students Union to one that remains relevant.
The Trustees sought feedback on the proposal, and now its time for students to confirm their choice via a referendum!
When you're voting, you'll see the amendment to our name as the first post you can vote for. When you select it, the available options will be presented just as candidates are across all the other available posts (screengrabs below).
Please remember to cast your votes between 10am 29th April and midnight on the 1st May - and thank you for helping to rename your union for the future!
