Summer is a very good time to volunteer, here's a few reasons why.
Summer is a perfect time to get involved with volunteering, not only is there plenty of time (around 90 days, if you're bound to term times) to get fully invested in an opportunity, but you're able to enjoy the various experiences that are worth having! Life is too short to not take advantage of a summer abroad, or visiting a festival!
Benefits to summer volunteering include:
- A lot more volunteering opportunities opening up, including those that operate abroad.
- The ability to go on adventures, and maybe pick up a new language!
- Occupies spare time between academic years.
- Learn new skills and do new things that may not be readily available during term time.
- Some providers offer perks for helping out! (Festivals sometimes allow their volunteers to attend the festival outside of their volunteering time, etc)
