Who are we?
The Staffordshire University Freemasons Society was formed in September 2019.
We are a group small group of like-minded people who have an interest in the study of ancient Freemasonry and (for some) the practice of modern Freemasonry.
Do I need to be a Freemason to join the society?
No, not at all, By joining the society you will not be a Freemason or be under any obligation to join a lodge.
At no point of your membership to the society are you expected to join a Freemasons Lodge although, should you wish to explore the option.
What does the society do?
Recently, the society members have taken part in a charity walk to help raise money for the Duke of Edinburgh Fund organized by The Grand Lodge of England.
As a society we have donated £100 to Staffs SU Foodbank, £250 to a student lead initiative which provides female inmates with a care package when they leave prison and hope to donate a further £100 to the Foodbank in the near future.
What do you have planned?
As a society, we, along with the rest of the planet, have been under lockdown restrictions. As a result, the past 15 months has been very slow.
So as the new academic year begins and restrictions are lifted, we are planning a few big events, such as:
The 3 Peaks Challenge, A visit to Grand Lodge in London, A Masonic walking tour of London and guest speakers from the Sharon Whatley, the Grand Master of HFAF (the ladies Freemasons) and a guest speaker from the Widows Sons MC who help to provide funding for the blood bikes and air ambulance.
EVENTS ARE OPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY
