Keeping healthy and active

Keeping yourself physically healthy is an important aspect of your day to day life.

Whether that's making sure you're eating well, staying hydrated or taking the time to do some exercise, we want to make sure you're in the right state of mind to do the best you can in your studies.

In this section we'll cover how to set yourself up for good health from Welcome Week.

A step by step guide

Step 1 | Whether you live on or off campus, make sure you are registered with a GP at your term time address.

You might not need to use it right away, but we'd always recommend doing this straight away.

To register, you will need:
  • Name and address
  • Date of birth
  • The name and address of your last GP

Step 2 | Make sure you're aware of where you can access various health care services:

Step 3 | Plan how much time you'd like to commit to physical exercise whilst at Uni...

...and think about what motivates you to keep at it. Do you prefer to go solo? Or is social sport more your thing?

The University and Students' Union are working to make sure that there are a variety of ways you can keep active or encourage you to start:
*more detailed information about these two is coming soon. We're currently working to make sure all our activites are safe and in line with government guidance.

Step 4 | Try out our meal plan template

We made this for students to plan their meals and shopping for the week in order to reduce food waste as part of our #SustainableUnion Game Changer, but we think it can help students to save money and be more mindful of what they eat and drink.
